Show: Mischief Movie Night Venue Pleasance at EICC Time: 6.30pm Dates: 3rd – 28th August (not 15th, 22nd) Interview with Susan Harrison, cast member.
Please tell me about your 2022 Edinburgh Festival Fringe show, Mischief Movie Night.
Mischief Movie Night is a fully improvised movie, with the genre, location and title all suggested by the audience. Overseeing the action is Oscar/Emmy the film director who make us jump through improv hoops for your entertainment! Mischief Movie Night is joyous, silly, fast and funny.
What is the attraction of performing at the Edinburgh Fringe? What do you think of Edinburgh?
I lived in Scotland for four years, so I absolutely love coming back, and Edinburgh is such a beautiful city. It’s always exciting to perform at the fringe alongside a huge variety of brilliant theatre artists, comedians, improvisers, musicians, and actors.
Who inspires you?
Loads of people inspire me, many of whom I’m lucky to work with. But my top three inspirational people currently are; awesome improviser Patti Stiles, incredible comedy writer Georgia Pritchett and the peerless ventriloquist Nina Conti.
Are there other shows you want to check out during the Fringe?
Nina Conti: The Dating Show (see above), Jordan Brookes: This is Just What Happens, An Evening Without Kate Bush by Sarah Louise Young, Charlie Russell Aims to Please (Charlie is the best!) and of course The Mind Mangler: Member of the Tragic Circle. Also I’m looking forward to seeing Showstopper! The Improvised Musical on a night I’m not in it!
Finally, ask and answer a question of your own.
Any tips for performers for surviving the fringe?
Bring a raincoat and escape from the city on your day off!
