This Edinburgh Festival Fringe, Mawaan Rizwan and Seda Yildiz bring you 30 minutes each of stand-up and storytelling. We received a lovely email from Seda about the show, titled, Yes.
“Hiya, ‘ello!
“I am a born’n’bred East Londoner and I invite you into the warmth of my confessionary, ‘yes, but no, but yes, no, I should say yes’ stories. The kind of stories that always seem to find me in compromising situations usually always in East London. Cue some – awkward – dancing music.
“Meanwhile, having accumulated 19 million views on YouTube, Mawaan exposes how his internet stardom has reduced him to tears and how twerking in public got him arrested.”
Why did you choose to perform as part of Laughing Horse?
“Great ethos. Great Venues. Great community. And they are on it with their communication and info about Fringe related busynasass.”
How do you describe your comedy to those that might not have seen you before?
“Expect…. chaos, clowning and whole lot of yes-ing. With a few dance moves thrown in for good measure.
“When I say dance moves… well… Mawaan and I move around a bit.”
What advice would you give your seventeen year old self?
“If it scares you – do it. Say yes.”
If you were curating a stand up show for television, who would be your guests?
“Luisa Omielan, Anna Crilly, Katy Wix, Julia Davis and Whoopi Goldberg.”
