Please tell me about your 2022 Edinburgh Festival Fringe show…
Firstly, I should introduce myself! I am Yasmine Day, International and world renowned pop diva. You may know me from my chart topping song Love Hurts when Eagles Fly* or my one woman Bananarama tribute act, Banana.
This year at the fringe I will be putting on a concert extravaganza to mark the release of my fifth debut album, Songs in the Key of Me. You’ll hear some wonderful songs, plus some anecdotes about my crazy celebrity life! Accompanying me on the piano is my nephew, Barney.

What is the attraction of performing at the Edinburgh Fringe? What do you think of Edinburgh?
I love the idea of performing in front of my fans every single night. I love my fans and I love all of the nice things they say about me. The other day I performed my hit song ‘Yasmine Day Sings in Space’ and one punter thought the song was so ahead of its time he shouted ‘is this even music?!’.
Edinburgh is also a great city. I went a bit overboard when I was last there and bought 7 bagpipes. I have a song on my last album called ‘Bagpipe Baby’, about a young baby who can play the bagpipes. Melody Maker called that song ‘hard to unhear’. Again, I love my fans!
Who inspires you?
Me!
Are there other shows you want to check out during the Fringe? What are they?
There are plenty of shows I’m very excited to see at the fringe: Christy Coysh, Bangarang!, Luke Rollason, Bowerbird and Shelf, Hair.
Finally, ask and answer a question of your own.
Some sources have said that you, Yasmine Day, are a better singer than Celine Dion, Barbara Streisand and Bonnie Tyler all rolled into one. Is this true?
Yes.
